Slater & Gordon attorney helps pen law book for health practioners

Co-written by Slater & Gordon medical law specialist, Bill Madden, Health Care & the Law addresses the complex legal framework in which health care professionals operate.

Mr Madden said the fifth edition of the textbook had been extensive updated to reflect the rapid pace of change in health related laws.
The new edition covers changes in areas such as: ? The consideration given by the courts to the civil liability lawmaking applying to neglect ? End-of-life decision-making, including recent major decisions ? The Commonwealth, State and Territory privacy regimes ? The replacement of Work Choices lawmaking by fair Work Australia and the new nation workplace relations tribunal.
Health Care & the Law was originally written by Meg Wallace in 1991. The fourth and fifth editions were coauthored by Bill Madden and Janine McIlwraith. The textbook has been published by Thomson Reuters.
